Senior Copywriter (Contract-to-Perm)

We are looking for a detail-oriented, strategic technical writer. In this role, you’ll help lead our Animal Health and Biotech content creation, building out voice, key messages, and copy across our clients’ campaigns and materials. You’ll work closely with our cross-functional internal teams and our clients to develop on-brand and strategic copy and content. You’ll build strong relationships internally and externally through excellence in delivery, communication, and strategic creative direction. We’re looking for someone with a robust background in B2B and/or Healthcare who is eager to learn new industries and launch new products to market.

This is a contract-to-perm role, with an opportunity for conversion based on performance after three months. This role is based in NYC (Brooklyn Heights) with a flexible hybrid work schedule. 


  • Lead copy & content development, specifically in our Animal Health client portfolio. Own all stages of copy development, from concepting to final delivery. 
  • Become a product information specialist, appropriately sourcing and referencing written materials for our client’s regulatory reviews. 
  • Actively explore our clients and their specific industries, developing fluency in therapeutics, diagnostic tools, audiences, and language.
  • Create strategic copy & narratives across brand identities, social content, banner ads, and campaigns using industry best practices. 
  • Copyedit comprehensive technical guides for diagnostic tools, ensuring clarity and consistency throughout.
  • Work closely and collaboratively with FWD People team members and clients to ideate creative solutions, develop concepts, and ensure assets are strategic and on-brand. 
  • Manage your time effectively, proactively communicating and consulting with team members regarding creative work, quality control, regulatory submissions, and deadlines.
  • Maintain version and quality control of owned assets throughout the project lifecycle, actively organizing and managing owned files to ensure operational effectiveness and efficiency.

What we’re looking for:

  • 7+ years of copywriting experience with a primary focus in B2B and/or healthcare / pharma. Animal Health experience is a huge plus. 
  • Exhibit exceptional attention to detail in all tasks, ensuring accuracy, consistency and precision in all deliverables.
  • Strong understanding of best practices in the pharma and healthcare industry, including how to apply references and validate ahead of regulatory submissions. 
  • Possess a solid understanding of AMA and AP style.
  • High creative standards with knowledge of the creative process. 
  • Able to self-manage expectations and deliver on-brief, strategic, and strong copy across deliverables.
  • Comfortable communicating ideas in slides and across GSuite, and presenting to clients and internal team members.
  • Strong critical thinking and storytelling skills. 
  • Work well under pressure, maintaining attention to detail and eagerness to incorporate feedback gracefully. 
  • Self-motivated positive attitude and collaborative nature, with the ability to adapt to new situations, think on your feet, and communicate openly and proactively with those around you.
  • Comfortable working in a fluid environment utilizing soft skills: listening, collaborating, negotiating, and decision-making.

Hourly Rate: $60-$80/hr depending on experience with the opportunity to convert to full-time after three months based on individual performance.
