Senior Brand & Digital Strategist


Fwd People is a boutique brand and digital agency looking to continue our rapid growth. We’re a tight-knit group of strategists, designers, developers, and creative thinkers committed to making a difference with our work.

In this role, you will work across our client portfolio, defining strategy and building insights-driven campaign plans to meet and exceed our partner’s objectives. You’ll be accountable for exceptional strategic thinking, partnership and deliverables. You’ll build strong relationships internally and externally through excellence in delivery, communication and strategic guidance. We’re looking for someone who is eager to learn new things, but also someone who brings both brand and campaign / digital strategy experience to the table.

This is a contract-based role, with an opportunity for conversion based on performance and company needs. This role is remote, with a preference for East-Coast-based applicants due to EST working hours.


  • Lead project brand strategy across projects
    • Conduct comprehensive discovery / research phases via immersion desk research, interviews, client meetings, working sessions, research partner management, etc. Lead distillation of discovery insights & findings.
    • Autonomously develop strategy decks, briefs, workshops and presentations. Lead presentations and conversations with confidence incorporating best practices for narratives and storytelling. 
    • Become an expert on our clients and their challenges, expanding your strategy expertise across a wide range of industries and engagements.
    • Apply systems thinking across brand architecture, user journeys, product ecosystems, and more.
  • Lead campaign / digital strategy

    • Lead the go-to-market strategy planning (targeting, channel mix, marketing ecosystem design, performance measurement).
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams to build and execute targeted campaigns across marketing channels, i.e. paid media, e-mail, video, etc.
    • Help develop and implement project plan improvements that yield KPI increases for our clients.
    • Input into the strategy phase of website projects, including shaping navigation, UX, and content decisions alongside our design team.
  • Confidently lead C-suite level clients on multiple projects simultaneously and hold responsibility for the executed deliverables.
  • Lead facilitation of client workshops and meetings involving senior stakeholders from across the business.
  • Brief internal teams, and encourage them to create best-in-class identity systems and brand applications (digital content, print, environmental, packaging, experiential)
  • Ensure that there is never a gap in service for our clients, even if it means rolling up your sleeves.  
  • Contribute to new business proposals and pitches, helping grow the agency’s profile and our client portfolio. 
  • Work to help shape our agency processes, strategy practices, and our overall approach to positioning the agency relative to our competitors.
  • Mentor and support team members.

What we’re looking for:

  • 8+ years of agency-based brand and campaign strategy experience. 
  • Confidence and competence in deck and document formatting to get ideas across clearly. 
  • Concise communication across all mediums, internally and externally. 
  • Demonstrated ability to develop strategic brand materials and campaign plans. 
  • Experience and history of presenting to and helping guide senior leadership clients. 
  • Expert in communicating ideas in slides and across GSuite, and presenting internally and externally. 
  • Work well under pressure, maintaining attention to detail and eagerness to incorporate feedback gracefully. 
  • Self-motivated, positive attitude and collaborative nature, with the ability to adapt to new situations, think on your feet, and communicate openly and proactively with those around you.
  • Comfortable working in a fluid environment utilizing soft skills: listening, collaborating, negotiating, and decision-making.

Hourly Rate: $60-$95/hr depending on experience.
