Creative Director, Art

Overview:

FWD People is a strategy-first, full-service agency supporting B2B and non-profit clients to build their brands and drive growth. We’re a tight-knit group of strategic thinkers who know how to execute and are committed to making an impact with our work.

In this role, you will work across our client portfolio, defining strategic creative, shaping product launches, and building brands to meet and exceed our partner’s objectives. You’ll deliver exceptional concepting, design, creative thinking, partnership, and deliverables and guide the creative team to do the same. You’ll build strong relationships internally and externally through excellence in delivery, communication, and strategic creative direction. We’re looking for someone with a robust background in B2B and/or Healthcare eager to learn new industries and launch new products to market.

This is a contract-to-perm role, with an opportunity for conversion based on performance after three months. This role is based in NYC (Brooklyn Heights) with a flexible hybrid work schedule.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead creative direction across projects
    • Ideating, conceptualize, art direct, and manage 360 campaigns (mainly across social, digital and print) 
    • Design/art direct for any media
    • Crafted thoughtful presentations to sell your ideas
    • Proactively keep abreast of design trends and technology advancements, bringing innovation and modern lenses to the work
    • Manage large creative production projects from multiple teams, overseeing creative assignments from development through production
    • Become an expert on our clients and their challenges, expanding your expertise across a wide range of industries and engagements.
    • Apply systems thinking across brand architecture, user journeys, product ecosystems, and more. 
  • Build trust and guide clients through the creative process. Confidently leading C-suite level clients on multiple projects simultaneously and hold responsibility for the executed deliverables.
  • Facilitate creative sessions and in-person client workshops involving senior stakeholders from across the business, demonstrating a full understanding of their industry’s design and marketing trends and how to set them apart. 
  • Develop and pitch recommendations to help clients better integrate their marketing and sales strategies, understanding how both the lead generation and follow-up sales engagement processes function within the client.
  • Brief internal teams, and encourage them to create best-in-class identity systems and brand applications (digital content, print, environmental, packaging, experiential)
  • Mentor, lead and manage our growing creative team. 
    • Establish and lead a dynamic group of creatives. Implement design and creative processes and foster a culture of continuous improvement within the team. 
    • Manage creative team members, regularly assessing both individual and team performance, leveraging feedback mechanisms and best practices. 
  • Ensure that there is never a gap in service for our clients, even if it means rolling up your sleeves.  
  • Contribute to new business proposals and pitches, helping grow the agency’s profile and our client portfolio. 
  • Work to help shape our agency processes and our overall approach to positioning the agency relative to our competitors.
  • Mentor and support team members in and outside of the Creative team.

What we’re looking for:

  • 13+ years of agency-based brand and campaign creative experience, with at least 5 years experience working with B2B or Healthcare clients.
  • Concise communication across all mediums, internally and externally. Excellent narrative-building skills, demonstrated throughout all decks and documents.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, grow, and extend meaningful client relationships.
  • History of facilitating, presenting to, and helping guide senior leadership clients. 
  • Expert in communicating ideas in slides and across GSuite, and presenting internally and externally. 
  • Work well under pressure, maintaining attention to detail and eagerness to incorporate feedback gracefully. 
  • Self-motivated, positive attitude and collaborative nature, with the ability to adapt to new situations, think on your feet, and communicate openly and proactively with those around you.
  • Comfortable working in a fluid environment utilizing soft skills: active listening, problem-solving, communication, negotiation, and decision-making.

Hourly: $100-$130/hour depending on experience with the opportunity to convert to full-time based on individual performance after three months.
